Many agricultural or “harvest” metaphors are used in scripture to describe God’s plans for each of us, our calling, the Church and really the world and all of mankind.  From planting seeds to harvest time, the physical attributes of farming and agriculture are used prolifically in scripture to detail what God is doing now and what He will do in the future when it comes to each of us and all of us . . . from Adam and Eve to the present.  Romans 1:20 makes it clear that the visible (the physical creation)  reflects the invisible or spirit realm in which God dwells.  Let’s explore some of these metaphors, noting how the physical creation reflects God’s plan for His creatures.
